About Aalesunds Museum

As the county's oldest museum, Aalesunds Museum has a long history.

The buildings combined with the entire park area, constitute one of the most distinctive museum indeed beyond national borders. The Aalesunds Museum Foundation operates and owns the property, buildings and objects. The museum's three buildings consist of the main building, a venerable 1917 town villa, the 1933 boathouse and a barn erected in 1812 and which today stands as the city's oldest building.

The city museum is idyllically located on a hill right in the center of the city. From there you can see the inner harbour area and many of the beautiful Art Nouveau houses.
